Antiochus [I] - Antiochus
King of the Seleucid Empire of Syria (reigned 281-261 BC). Son of Seleucus I. He fought against the Ptolemy Empire and lost the southwest coast of Asia Minor, but he prevented the Gauls from invading Asia Minor and is called Soter (savior). He is also known for founding many cities and military colonies.
