Japanese: 消費者行動 - しょうひしゃこうどう（英語表記）consumer behavior

The behavior of consumers who purchase, use, and dispose of goods and services can be taken up as models from various angles. The oldest one was from an economic perspective, and models from this perspective are succinctly expressed in that consumers behave in a way that maximizes the utility of consumption when income and price are given. This microscopic consumer behavior can be understood as a continuation of demand (consumption) behavior from a macroscopic perspective based on the hypothesis that demand and supply move toward equilibrium.

財やサービスを購買，使用，廃棄する消費者の行動は，種々の角度からモデルとして取りあげることができる。最も古くは経済学的視点で取りあげられ，この視点におけるモデルは，所得と価格とが与えられたとき，消費の効用を極大にするように消費者が行動するという点に端的に表されている。そしてこのミクロな(微視的)立場における消費者行動は，需要と供給とが均衡化方向をたどるという仮説によってマクロな(巨視的)立場における需要(消費)行動へと連続的にとらえられる。
