Born in the first year of Keian. Obaku sect. Studied under Tetsugen Doko. Went to Edo to make a vow to erect 500 arhat statues in Yabakei, Buzen (Oita Prefecture), and completed it in the 8th year of Genroku with the donations of Keishoin and others. The statues are still on display at Gohyaku Rakan-ji Temple in Meguro Ward, Tokyo. Died on July 11, 7th year of Hoei. Age 63. Born in Kyoto. Secular name was Kyubei.
