An anticancer drug synthesized as a derivative of nitrogen mustard. It shows almost no anticancer effect in a test tube, but becomes active when it enters the body and is activated by the action of intracellular phosphate enzymes. It is not very effective against epithelial tumors, especially stomach cancer, but it is often effective against lymphatic sarcomas. There are very few side effects such as leukopenia and loss of appetite. Hair loss is a specific side effect, but it regenerates when administration is discontinued, and can be prevented by using Parotin in combination.

ナイトロジェンマスタードの誘導体の一種として合成された制癌(がん)薬。試験管内ではほとんど制癌作用を示さず，生体内に入って細胞内のリン酸酵素の作用によって活性化され，効力を発現する。上皮性腫瘍(しゅよう)，ことに胃癌等にはあまり効力を示さないが，リンパ系肉腫の類に有効例が多い。白血球減少や食欲不振等の副作用はきわめて少ない。脱毛が特異的な副作用であるが投与中止で再生するし，パロチンの併用で防止も可能。
