Sudden rain - shuu

Also called sudden rain or murasame. Rain that starts suddenly and stops soon after. It is the opposite of ground rain, which falls steadily for a long time. It falls from convective clouds. Unlike rain that falls from layered clouds, which is continuous, it is temporary. It may come and go repeatedly.
