Ogata Koreyoshi - Ogata Koreyoshi

Japanese: 緒方惟能 - おがたこれよし
Ogata Koreyoshi - Ogata Koreyoshi

...A military commander in the late Heian period. Date of birth and death unknown. Also written as Korehide or Koreno. A descendant of the Oga clan, the governor of Ono County in Bungo, and the lord of Ogata Manor in the same county. After the Taira clan took control of Dazaifu, he formed a relationship of master and vassal with Taira Shigemori, but after Minamoto no Yoritomo raised an army, he rebelled against the Taira clan along with the nearby Usuki and Nagano clans and expelled the Mokudai of Bungo Province. After that, he became the core of the anti-Taira forces in central and northern Kyushu. In 1183 (Juei 2), he received an imperial and national decree from Bungo Province Governor Fujiwara Yorisuke to pursue and destroy the Taira clan, and expelled them from Dazaifu, but was exiled due to the Usa Shrine Arson Incident. Ogata [Yamaguchi Junsei] According to the eighth volume of the Tale of the Heike, Odamaki, Koreyoshi's ancestor was called Daita, the son of a snake god from Mt. Ubagake, on the border between Bungo and Hyuga, who visited a village woman and gave birth to him. He was also called Tei Daita because he had constant calluses on his hands and feet, both in summer and winter.
