Shuan (English spelling)

Japanese: 輯安 - しゅうあん（英語表記）Jí ān

It belongs to Ji'an County, Jilin Province, China, and lies on a long, narrow alluvial plain stretching for over 10 km on the right bank of the middle reaches of the Yalu River. The location of the Ji'an County Office was formerly Tonggou, but is now called Ji'an, and part of it is called Donggou. Relics from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, and even the Warring States period of China have been excavated in this area, with many ruins and relics dating back to the mid-Goguryeo period and later. This area is also known as the location of the capital of the mid-Goguryeo period, until the capital was moved to Pyongyang in the 15th year of the reign of King Jangsu (427). The existing Ji'an County Wall was extensively remodeled at the beginning of the 20th century, but it is a successor to the internal wall or the round capital wall of the mid-Goguryeo period.

中国吉林省集安県に属し，鴨緑江中流域右岸の，長さ十数kmほどにわたって細長く延びる沖積平野にあたる。集安県庁の所在地は，以前は通溝，現在は集安とか，その一部を洞溝と呼ぶ。　この地は，新石器時代から青銅器時代を経て，中国戦国時代の遺物まで出土するが，特に高句麗中期以後の遺跡や遺物が多数認められる。この地は，また高句麗の中期，長寿王15年(427)の平壌遷都までの，首都の所在地として知られる。現存する輯安県城は，20世紀の初めに大きく改築されているが，高句麗中期の国内城あるいは丸都城を継承したものである。
