Le Charivari
A French satirical newspaper founded on December 1, 1832 by the caricaturist C. Philippon. It was published until 1893, but initially it focused on political attacks on King Louis-Philippe, and is especially famous for having Daumier contribute lithographs. After the banning of La Caricature, Daumier published his lithograph series "Robert Macaire" and others in the paper for 25 years.
