The largest British trading company based in Hong Kong and involved in trade with China. Its Chinese name is also written as Yee Ho Trading Co., Ltd. or Sadian Trading Co., Ltd. Scotsmen W. Jardine and J. Matheson established Yee Ho Trading Co., Ltd. in Macau in 1832 (the 12th year of the Daoguang Era) and engaged in opium and tea trade. With the abolition of the East India Company's monopoly on trade with China and the Opium Wars, the company expanded into Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai, and also opened a branch in Yokohama in 1959. After the bankruptcy of Dent & Co., it became the largest trading company in the Far East.

香港を拠点に中国貿易に携わった最大のイギリス資本商社。中国名は怡和（いわ）洋行，渣甸（さでん）洋行とも記される。スコットランド人W.ジャーディンとJ.マセソンは1832年(道光12)澳門（マカオ）に怡和洋行を設立し，アヘンや茶貿易に従事した。東インド会社の中国貿易独占権の廃止やアヘン戦争などを機に，広州，香港，上海に進出し，また横浜にも59年に支店を置き，デント商会倒産の後は極東最大の貿易商となった。
