A town in the west of Sarawak, in the northwest of Borneo, Malaysia. Located at the junction of the Rajang and Igan rivers, medium-sized ships can navigate from the mouth of the river. A distribution center for rubber, pepper, rice, etc., where rubber and sago starch are processed. Population 85,231 (1980).
