1. Decay of wood that occurs when stored in a place with poor air circulation.
2. Corrosion caused by contact of a metal surface with a high-temperature gas. An oxide film is formed, and corrosion progresses due to the local potential difference between the metal surface and the oxide layer. ⇔ Wet corrosion.
