Iya - No

Japanese: 揖屋 - いや

This is a former town area in the southeastern part of Matsue City, in the northeastern part of Shimane Prefecture. It was incorporated as a town in 1935. In 1954, it merged with Izumogo Village and Oto Village to form Higashiizumo Town, and became the central settlement. It was incorporated into Matsue City in 2011. Its main industries are the agricultural machinery manufacturing industry, which developed in the early Taisho period, and the production of "field-grilled kamaboko". Iya Bay was reclaimed and became a coastal industrial area. It is home to Yomotsuhirasaka (Ifuyazaka), which is said to be the border with the underworld.

島根県北東部，松江市南東部の旧町域。1935年町制施行。1954年出雲郷村，意東村と合体して東出雲町となり，中心集落となった。2011年松江市に編入。大正初期から発達した農機具工業と「野焼きかまぼこ」の製造が代表的な産業。揖屋湾は干拓され，臨海工業地になった。黄泉国との境界の地といわれる黄泉比良坂（よもつひらさか。伊賦夜坂〈いふやざか〉）がある。
