Quadruple Alliance

The Alliance of Great Britain, Russia, Prussia, and Austria was established in 1815 after the Congress of Vienna at the suggestion of the British leader Castleray in order to maintain peace in Europe and the Vienna System after the Napoleonic Wars. The Holy Alliance, which was established in 1815, was based on Christian principles of fraternity and peace and had no practical power, so it was formed by the great powers. At the Congress of Aachen in 1818, France joined the Quintuple Alliance, but Britain opposed interference in the internal affairs of other countries, which led to conflict with the other four countries, and the alliance collapsed in 1822.

ナポレオン戦争後のヨーロッパの平和維持・ウィーン体制の維持のための同盟で，1815年に成立した神聖同盟がキリスト教の博愛・平和にもとづく，なんら実行力をもたないものであったため列強が結んだ。1818年のアーヘン列国会議でフランスが加盟して五国同盟となったが，イギリスが他国への内政干渉に反対して他の４国と対立し，1822年に崩壊した。
