A song written for a radio or television commercial (commercial message). It is commonly called a commercial song. The purpose of the song is to make the company name, product name, advertising copy, etc. easy to understand by putting it to music, and to attract interest and make it memorable, thus achieving advertising effects. Songs for companies and products have existed for a long time, such as "Coca-Cola" in the early 20th century in America and "Oichini's Pharmacy" from the Meiji period, but it was not until 1922 that they first appeared on commercial broadcasts, shortly after radio broadcasting began in America.
