British author I. Fleming's novels, from Casino Royale (1953) to Octopussy (1966), feature 007, a spy for the British Secret Service. A handsome man with superhuman abilities, and a typical British gentleman, he works all over the world and charms many women. Perhaps because this setting is ideal for film, most of his works have been made into films, starting with Dr. No (1958), which was made into a film in 1962 (From Russia with Love) (1957, filmed in 1963).

イギリスの作家I.フレミング作《カジノ･ロアイヤル》(1953)から《オクトパシー》(1966)までの小説の主人公として登場する，イギリス情報部のスパイ007。美男子で超人的能力の持主で，しかもイギリス紳士の典型のような彼は，世界をまたにかけて活躍し，多くの女性たちを魅了する。このような設定は映画に最適であるためか，《ドクター･ノー》(1958)が1962年に映画化(《007は殺しの番号》)されたのを最初として，《ロシアより愛をこめて》(1957，映画化1963)など，ほとんどの作品が映画になっている。
