Sanpo Tousou

Japanese: 算法統宗 - さんぽうとうそう

A mathematics book from the late Ming Dynasty in China. Its correct title is "Xinpen Zhishisan Fa Tongzong." Written by Cheng Dawei and published in 1592, it was a 17-volume work. It explains how to use the abacus, which was popular at the time, and various arithmetic methods needed in daily life, and went through many editions. It was brought to Japan and studied by early Japanese mathematicians, and had a major impact on the development of Japanese mathematics, particularly through Yoshida Mitsuyoshi's "Jinkoki" (1627), which was based on this book.
