A general term for birds of the passerine family Campephagidae, or a single species of the family. The Campephagidae (caterpillar birds) are found mainly in South Asia, New Guinea, and Australia, and also in Africa, but are not found in the New World at all. There are about 70 species in nine genera, and they vary widely in length, ranging from 13 cm to 31 cm. They are broadly divided into two groups: the cuckoo-shrike and the minivet.
