〘Noun〙① A Chinese official title. The three people who occupy the highest positions and assist the emperor. The meaning changes over time, but in Zhou they were Grand Master, Grand Tutor, and Grand Administrator, and in the Qin and Former Han dynasties they were Prime Minister, Grand Commander, and Grand Censor, and sometimes they were also called Dasitu, Dasima, and Dasikong. From the Later Han to the Tang dynasties they were often called Grand Commander, Situ, and Sikong, and in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties they returned to the Zhou system and were called Grand Master, Grand Tutor, and Grand Administrator, but the more recent they became empty names.
