Three Lords - Sanko
〘Noun〙① A Chinese official title. The three people who occupy the highest positions and assist the emperor. The meaning changes over time, but in Zhou they were Grand Master, Grand Tutor, and Grand Administrator, and in the Qin and Former Han dynasties they were Prime Minister, Grand Commander, and Grand Censor, and sometimes they were also called Dasitu, Dasima, and Dasikong. From the Later Han to the Tang dynasties they were often called Grand Commander, Situ, and Sikong, and in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties they returned to the Zhou system and were called Grand Master, Grand Tutor, and Grand Administrator, but the more recent they became empty names. [Book of Documents - Zhou Officials]② A general term for the Grand Minister of State, Left Minister, and Right Minister among the official positions under the Ritsuryo system. ※Family tradition (around 760), part 2: "In the first year of the Taiho era, one Yoshiie son was selected, made into one of the chamberlains , and one of Sanko's sons was given a special imperial conferment of the sixth rank and appointed as one of the chamberlains." ③ = San Taisei (three stars) ※Shoku Nihongi - First year of the Reiki era (715), August Ding Chou: "Takada no Kubi Kuhimaro presented one Reiki . Seven inches long. Six inches wide. White left eye. Red right eye. Two three- stars around the neck. One shoulder strap with seven stars. Along the front legs are two hexagrams." ④ ("Ko" is a suffix) Abbreviation for Sansuke, a servant at the bathhouse. ※Comedy book, Ukiyo-furo (1809-13), part 3: "Oi Sanko (sankau) , fill me with Kune (kun) ."
