Algoman diastrophism

Crustal movement in the Canadian Shield that marks the end of the Archean era. It is also called the Kenoran orogenic movement. The intrusion of the Argoman Granite and the associated metamorphism occurred 2.2 to 2.6 billion years ago, with an average of 2.5 billion years ago. The area in which the movement occurred occupies the southern part of the Canadian Shield from south to east of Hudson Bay, and extends into the U.S. states of Wyoming and Montana. In this region, areas mainly composed of metamorphosed volcanic rocks and areas mainly composed of metamorphosed sedimentary rocks alternate.

カナダ楯状地で始生代の末期を示す地殻変動。ケノーラン造山運動Kenoran orogenic movementともよんでいる。アルゴマン花コウ岩の貫入とそれに伴う変成作用の時期は22億～26億年前で，平均25億年前である。変動のおこった地域はハドソン湾の南から東にかけてカナダ楯状地の南部を占め，アメリカのワイオミング，モンタナ両州に及ぶ。この地域には，変成した火山岩層を主とする地帯と変成した堆積岩を主とする地帯が交互に分布する。
