Sagaoka Mikuriya - Samukawa no Mikuriya

Japanese: 寒河御厨 - さむかわのみくりや
Sagaoka Mikuriya - Samukawa no Mikuriya
A kitchen of Ise Grand Shrine in Tsuga County, Shimotsuke Province. It is believed to have been established in the area centered on Oyama-go, Tsuga County, which is mentioned in the Wamyō Ruijushō, and is identified with the Omoi River basin from present-day Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture to Nogi Town, Shimotsuga County. It was also called Oyama Manor. Oyama Masamitsu, a local official at the Shimotsuke provincial government office, donated his development land, including his successive residences, to Emperor Goshirakawa, who was the feudal lord at the time, and Oyama Manor was established. In 1166, Emperor Goshirakawa donated the manor to Ise Grand Shrine as a Nagahi gohei offering fee, and it became the Saga mikuriya. In 1213, it was donated again by Emperor Gotoba, and became the Ichien Shinryō. According to the Shinpōshō and other sources, the land area was 180 tsubo, and 360 sheets of paper for gohei were required. The Oyama clan continued to retain control as local lords and had their base in the area until the Sengoku period.
