An American duet team consisting of Paul Simon (1941- ) and Art Garfunkel (1942- ). The two have been friends since elementary school, and in 1964, they released their first album with the song "Sound of Silence," which became a hit. In 1968, they sang "Mrs. Robinson," the theme song for the movie "The Graduate." Both of these songs were written and composed by Simon, and both the lyrics and the music are filled with a delicate urban sensibility, and his talent as a singer-songwriter was highly praised.
