Spotted chub mackerel

A marine fish belonging to the family Scombridae, order Perciformes, class Osteichthyes. It is also called Marusaba. It inhabits the coasts of the subtropical Pacific Ocean widely and can reach a total length of 40 cm. In the waters around Japan, it is found south of the Sanriku coast.

Japanese:

硬骨魚綱スズキ目サバ科に属する海水魚。マルサバともよばれる。太平洋の亜熱帯域の沿岸に広く生息し、全長40センチメートルに達する。日本近海では三陸沿岸以南に分布する。
