Japanese: 古生ヒカゲノカズラ - こせいひかげのかずら

Protolepidodendrales is a group of fossil ferns (order) that were found in the Devonian period about 370 million years ago and are related to early club moss ferns. It includes Drepanophycus , Baragwanathia , Asteroxylon , Protolepidodendron (illustration), and Colpodexylon . The stems, which are 1 to 5 cm in diameter and have a radiating column, are covered with leaves arranged in a spiral.

初期のヒカゲノカズラの仲間で約3億7000万年前のデボン紀に産したシダ植物の化石群(目)Protolepidodendrales。ドレパノフィクスDrepanophycus，バラグワナチアBaragwanathia，アステロキシロンAsteroxylon，古生鱗木（りんぼく）Protolepidodendron（イラスト），コルポデキシロンColpodexylonなどを含む。放射中心柱をもつ直径1～5cmの茎は一面にらせん状に配列された葉で覆われている。
