A collection of haiku poems by amateur haiku poets in Edo, including Sozui and Yanai. Published in 1731. It contains five volumes of Shiginkasen, in which the authors take turns as judges. It is an unusual book in that it depicts a group of amateurs with no ambition in the haiku world, freely playing with haiku without being obsessed with the score. It was later praised by Senryo as a book of criticism against the difficult metaphorical haiku that was popular in Edo, and played a pioneering role in the movement to restore the Sho-style.
