Domestic Airlines - International Airlines

Japanese: 国内航空 - こくないこうくう

This refers to air transport that is limited to domestic flight segments. Domestic flight segments here include flights between the home country and its dependencies, or between two dependencies, and domestic aviation also includes flights that pass over the high seas or the territory of another country. Transport is generally limited to passengers, cargo, and mail, and military air transport is excluded. There are scheduled and non-scheduled flights, and they are classified as trunk lines and local lines (also called regional or feeder lines) depending on the nature of the flight segment. There are also trunk line operators, local line operators, non-scheduled and charter flight operators (also called supplemental carriers), cargo-only operators, and helicopter operators.

航空輸送のうち，国内飛行区間のみに限定された運航をいう。ここでいう国内飛行区間とは，本国とその属領，もしくは二つの属領間の飛行をも含み，その飛行中に公海または他国領土の上空を通過する場合も国内航空に含まれる。輸送内容は一般に旅客，貨物，郵便に限定され，軍用の航空輸送は除外される。定期便と不定期便があり，飛行区間の性質によって幹線，ローカル線(リージョナル線またはフィーダー線ともよぶ)に分類される。航空会社も幹線運航会社，ローカル線運航会社，不定期便･チャーター便運航会社(サプルメンタル･キャリアともよぶ)，貨物専門運航会社，ヘリコプター運航会社がある。
