Vulpecula (Little Fox)

Japanese: こぎつね座(小狐座) - こぎつねざ（英語表記）Vulpecula

Its abbreviation is Vul. It is a small constellation located south of Cygnus, in the middle of the Milky Way in the early autumn sky. It was founded by J. Hevelius in the 17th century. It has no bright stars. The faint object M27 is 720 light years away and is a planetary nebula called the Dumbbell Nebula, which shines as a circular ring of gas spreading out in all directions from the central star. Its approximate position is 20h10m in right ascension and +25° in declination. It reaches its culmination at 8pm in late September. [Ishida Goro]
