American Can Co.
The world's largest comprehensive manufacturer of metal containers, based in the United States. Headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut. Founded in New Jersey in 1901 with the merger of over 60 manufacturers of tin cans and other containers. In 1956, the company acquired manufacturers of plastic containers, aluminum and plastic secondary products, and began expanding overseas. As a result, it has now become a comprehensive container manufacturer that produces everything from cans, containers, tubes, and packaging machines made from metal and plastic sheets to disposable paper products for consumers.
