A loyal subject in the late Ming Dynasty of China. A native of Zhangpu (Zhangpu County, Fujian Province). His courtesy name was Youping. He was a Jinshi in the 2nd year of Tianqi (1622). In the 17th year of the Chongzhen Era (44), when the Ming Dynasty fell and King Fu rose to power in Nanjing, he assisted the new emperor as Minister of Rites. When King Fu was captured by the Qing army, he served the Tang king and worked to restore the Ming Dynasty as a great scholar at the Wuying Palace. He himself went to Jiangnan, but was defeated in battle by the Qing army, captured and died. He was a man of integrity and uprightness who did not pander to the common people, and was highly educated. He excelled in writing, calligraphy and painting, was well versed in astronomy, almanacs and mathematics, and wrote many books.

中国，明末の忠臣。漳浦 (福建省漳浦県) の人。字は幼平。天啓2 (1622) 年の進士。崇禎 17 (44) 年明が滅び，南京に福王が立つと礼部尚書として新帝を助けた。福王が清軍に捕えられると，次いで唐王を奉じ，武英殿大学士として明室の回復に努め，みずから江南方面におもむいたが清軍と戦って敗れ，捕われて没した。清廉剛直の性格で俗流におもねらず，その学行は高かった。文章書画をよくし，天文暦数に精通，著書も多い。
