A town in Tsuzuki County in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture. The western part is in the lowlands of the Kyoto Basin, facing the Kizu River, and has an urban area through which the Nara Line runs. Rice is the main crop, but tea and local vegetable cultivation is also thriving. Housing development and the construction of factories are also progressing. 18.04 km2 . 8,447 people (2010).
