A physical property of an object's surface, and its corresponding psychological attribute is called "luster" or gloss. It is determined mainly by the degree of specular reflection (reflection), and gloss standards for paper, paint, etc. are determined by measuring this, but in reality, it is strongly influenced by the ratio of the intensity of specular reflected light to scattered reflected light, the clarity of the specular reflected image, and the roughness of the surface. There are two main types of gloss: metallic gloss, which has a strong surface reflection, and gloss associated with transparent materials (paper, paint, etc., have a layer of transparent material on the surface).
