King of Yue during the Spring and Autumn Period in China (reigned 496-465 BC). Immediately after ascending to the throne, he defeated King Helü of Wu, raising the nation's prestige, but in 494 BC was defeated by King Fuchai of Wu (the humiliation of Kuaiji). With the help of famous ministers such as Fan Li, he tried to recover and regain his dignity.
