...A Chinese thinker in the late Ming Dynasty. His pen name was Kun-yi and his pen name was Liao-fan. He is commonly known as Yuan Liao-fan. His birth and death years are unknown. He unified the three religions of the time: Taoism of the Golden Elves, the new Buddhism of the late Ming Dynasty such as Yun-gu Zenji and Zi-bo Da-guan, and Confucianism, which had become more of an education for the imperial examination. His theory of the unification of the three religions was widely disseminated and he was called the Master of the Three Religions. He wrote many books, but the one that was most widely circulated was Yinzhi Lu.
