Houjin

Japanese:
Houjin

He is said to be the founder of the Zhou dynasty in ancient China. According to the Records of the Grand Historian, Jiang Yuan, the daughter of Youtai and consort to Emperor Kou, became pregnant after stepping on a giant's footprint in the field and gave birth to Hou Ji. This is considered an example of an ancient Chinese tale of inspiration. Hou Ji is also said to have taught farming, and is considered an agricultural god. One theory about this is that when the Zhou people first settled in Zhouyuan, they had a child with a local woman of the Jiang surname, and Hou Ji learned agriculture from them, which is what gave rise to this legend.
