Japanese: 航空ショー - こうくうショー（英語表記）air show

A general term for events that mainly feature aircraft displays, ranging from trade fairs organized by manufacturers, military shows for demonstration purposes, educational exhibitions, and leisure events held by amateur groups. The largest of these are industrial trade fairs organized by manufacturers, and regular, full-scale air shows are held in France (Le Bourget Airport in Paris, held in odd-numbered years), the UK (Farnborough Airfield in London, held in even-numbered years), Germany (Hannover Airport, held in even-numbered years), Italy (Turin Airport, held in even-numbered years), and Japan (Makuhari Airport, held irregularly). The Paris and London Air Shows are known as the world's largest air shows, with hundreds of companies from all over the world participating every year and featuring indoor and outdoor exhibits and flight displays in a wide range of fields, from aircraft, engines, and space equipment to minute parts.

航空機の展示を中心として行われる催しの総称で，メーカーの主催する見本市から，示威を目的とする軍事ショー，啓蒙･教育のための展示会，アマチュアグループなどのレジャー的行事にいたるまでさまざまなものがある。このうちもっとも大規模なものはメーカーの催す工業見本市ショーで，定期的に開催される本格的なものとしてはフランス(パリのル･ブールジェ空港，西暦の奇数年に開催)，イギリス(ロンドンのファーンボロ飛行場，偶数年)，ドイツ(ハノーファー空港，偶数年)，イタリア(トリノ空港，偶数年)，日本(幕張，不定期)などがあり，なかでもパリとロンドン航空ショーは例年世界各国から数百社が参加し，機体，エンジン，宇宙機器から微細な部品にいたるまであらゆる分野にわたって室内･野外展示，飛行ディスプレーを総合的に行う世界最大の航空ショーとして知られている。
