Xinganling Mountains

Japanese:
Xinganling Mountains
This refers to the Inner Khingan Range in northeastern China, and is divided into the Greater Khingan Range and the Lesser Khingan Range. The Greater Khingan Range is a mountain range of about 1,500 km long that runs northeast to southwest through the northwestern part of the northeastern region, south of the Amur River. It is relatively low, at 1,000 to 2,000 m above sea level, with a steep eastern side and a gentle slope to the west, connecting to the Mongolian Plateau. The Lesser Khingan Range branches off from the Greater Khingan Range, runs northwest to southeast, has a gentle southern slope, and ends in the plains of northern Tohoku. The forested areas of both ranges are inhabited by people such as the Oroqen, who make a living from hunting. The Stanovoy Mountains in Russia, north of the Amur River, are called the Outer Khingan Range in China.
