Immediately after the Glorious Revolution, the Provisional Parliament of England drafted the Declaration of Rights, which was submitted as a condition for the joint rule of William III and Mary II, and enacted as law in 1689. It is the common name for the Act declaring the rights and liberties of subjects, and determining the succession to the throne. After listing the illegal acts of James II, it made it illegal for the King to suspend or exempt the execution of laws, tax, maintain a standing army in peacetime, etc. without the approval of Parliament, and confirmed the ancient rights and liberties of the people. It put an end to the conflict between the King and Parliament in the 17th century, and defined the system after the Glorious Revolution.

名誉革命直後，英国仮議会が起草し，ウィリアム３世とメアリー２世の共同統治の条件として提出した〈権利宣言〉を1689年，法律として制定したもの。〈臣民の権利および自由を宣言し，王位継承を定める法律〉の通称。ジェームズ２世の不法行為を列挙したうえで，国王の法律執行停止・適用免除，課税，平時における常備軍の維持などを議会の承認なしに行うことを違法として，国民の古来の権利と自由を確認した。17世紀の国王と議会の対立抗争に終止符を打ち，名誉革命後の体制を規定した。
