An excerpt from the official diary written by Miyoshi Yasuari, a member of the Council of Councilors of the Kamakura Shogunate and a steward of the Monjusho. The entries cover the entire year of 1277 (Kenji 3), but because they are excerpts, they only cover 68 days. They are an excellent historical document that gives insight into the tense times between the Bun'ei and Koan periods. The original excerpt was obtained by Maeda Tsunanori in 1677 (Enpo 5) from the Kanazawa Bunko and is currently in the possession of the Sonkeikaku Bunko. The circumstances surrounding its creation are unclear, or it may have been a historical document used for the compilation of the Azuma Kagami. Included in Gunsho Ruiju, Sonkeikaku Sokan, and Zoku Shiryo Taisei. [Aoyama Mikiya] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
