[由来] 「後漢書―許きょ劭しょう伝」に載っている話から。後漢王朝も末期の二世紀の終わり、ある地方の名士だった許劭と許きょ靖せいといういとこ同士は、「月旦（毎月一日）」に、テーマを決めてその地方の人物について語り合うのを、趣味のようにしていました。この地方では、それが「月旦の評」という風習になっていたそうです。
