187 BCE - 141 BCE China, former Han Emperor Liu Qi of the Dynasty. Reigned 157-141 BC. Son of Emperor Wen, his mother was Empress Dou. When he was made crown prince, he was praised for being purely kind and compassionate. In 154 BC, seven kings, including King Liu Bi of Wu and King Liu Bo of Chu, rebelled against him after he tried to reduce the territories of the various feudal lords by using the advice of the Legalist criminal Bi Zhuo. This rebellion is known as the Wu-Chu Seven States Rebellion. Grand Marshal Zhou Yafu was sent to put down the rebellion. As a result, most of the powerful feudal lords were wiped out, a centralized system was established, and this laid the foundation for the great development of the Han Empire during the reign of Emperor Wu.
