This book gives a complete picture of the knowledge and ideological system of Sato Nobuhiro, a businessman of the late Edo period, during the formation of his economic theory. It was completed in 1822 (Bunsei 5). It is in two volumes. It precedes the extensive book Keizai Yoroku (Economics Summary) (completed in 1827), and systematically organizes Nobuhiro's ideas, ranging from the policies that feudal lords should take, his cosmology, and astronomy and geography, to agriculture and agricultural policy, mining, and trade and distribution. It is made up of a preface and general discussion in the first volume, The Foundation of the Nation in the First Volume, The Opening of Things in the Second Volume, Enriching the Nation in the Third Volume, and Consolidating the Nation in the Fourth Volume. It begins with the words, "Economics means managing the land, developing products, making the country prosperous, and saving the people."
