Avogadro's Number - Avogadro's Number
The number of molecules contained in 1 mole of a pure substance. It was originally defined this way because it was determined from Avogadro's law, but it was found that it can also be applied to substances consisting of ions and atoms, and the previous definition now includes atoms and ions. It is usually expressed as N, where N ≒ 6.022045 × 10 2 3. It is also called the Loschmidt number.
