Black Lily Princess - Kuroyurihime

Japanese: 黒百合姫 - くろゆりひめ

A woman who appears in the story "Kuroyurihime Saibun."
Her name was Sayuri. She was accused of being a member of a rebellious family against the Kamakura Shogunate and was accused of killing her father, Goro Yajima Mitsuyasu. In order to avenge his death, she retreated to Mt. Chokai and prayed to Daigongen. When the lilies in Tsurumaike Pond in the mountains all turned black, she learned that her wish for the restoration of her family had been granted. She later handed over her business to her son Midorimaru and spent the rest of her life reciting the Lotus Sutra.

名は小百合。鎌倉幕府に謀反した一族として攻められ,自害した父矢島五郎満安の恨みをはらすため,鳥海山にこもり大権現にいのる。山中の鶴間ケ池のユリがみな黒色にかわり,お家再興の願いのかなったことを知る。のち跡を子の緑丸にゆずり,法華(ほけ)経を読誦(どくじゅ)して世をおくったという。
