A town in Suttsu County, Hokkaido. It occupies an isthmus on the Oshima Peninsula between Uchiura Bay and Suttsu Bay, and is served by the Hakodate Main Line. The town produces mainly dairy farming, as well as glutinous rice and potatoes. Utasai is the northernmost area where beech trees grow naturally (a natural monument). Area: 345.65 km2 .
