Granma (English spelling)
The official newspaper of the Cuban Communist Party. It has the largest circulation in Cuba, with a morning and Sunday edition of about 675,000 (1993). It was first published on October 2, 1965. In April 1969, it absorbed the major newspaper El Mundo (founded in 1901) and grew rapidly. It is published in Havana.
