Japanese: 倉吉[市] - くらよし

A city in central Tottori Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1953. The Kurayoshi Plain, through which the Tenjin River flows, is in the north and east. The San'in Main Line runs through the city. Kurayoshi, in the center, was a castle town after the Yamana clan built a castle. During the Edo period, it became a jin'ya town for the Ikeda clan's chief retainer, and was known for its rice thresher, Senba. Commerce is thriving, and the main industries are electrical machinery, textiles, food products, and metal manufacturing. In rural areas, rice farming, as well as cultivation of Nijisseiki pears, melons, and watermelons, are thriving. Sekigane Onsen is located in the south. In March 2005, Sekigane Town, Tohaku District, was incorporated into the city. 272.06 ^km2 . Population: 50,720 (2010).

鳥取県中部の市。1953年市制。北部，東部は天神川が流れる倉吉平野。山陰本線が通じる。中心の倉吉は山名氏築城後城下町。江戸期は池田藩家老の陣屋町となり，稲こき千歯の産で知られた。商業が盛んで，工業では電気機械，繊維，食料品，金属などの製造業が中心。農村部では米作，二十世紀ナシ・メロン・スイカ栽培が盛ん。南部に関金温泉がある。2005年３月東伯郡関金町を編入。272.06km²。５万720人（2010）。
