A British literary magazine founded in October 1922 by TS Eliot. The first issue featured his groundbreaking work, The Waste Land. It was a quarterly magazine, but was briefly a monthly. Aiming to realize fresh intellectual exchange throughout Europe, it actively invited contributions from British authors as well as continental authors and thinkers, and, combined with an extensive book review column, sought to provide an overview of new trends in thought. With the looming threat of World War II, it became difficult to maintain this editorial policy, and the magazine ceased publication in January 1939.
