Born on February 17, 1242. At the age of eight, he performed in a celebratory Noh performance for the shogunate. He moved to Shizuoka at the time of the Meiji Restoration. He later returned to Tokyo and was active at the forefront of the Noh stage. He also performed in the Noh performances of Emperor Meiji and Emperor Taisho. His last performance was in 1923, in the memorial Noh performance of his father, Mototsune, for the 50th year of his life, "Yugyoyanagi." He passed away on January 5, 1924, at the age of 80.
