Emperor Kumazawa

Japanese: 熊沢天皇 - クマザワテンノウ

In the 1940s, Kumazawa claimed to be the heir to the Southern Court imperial line. Hiromichi Hiromichi Since the Taisho period, he had called himself a descendant of Emperor Gokameyama, but after World War II, his claim caught the attention of GHQ and American magazines and attracted attention. Later, he filed a lawsuit demanding the abdication of Emperor Showa, but it was dismissed. → The theory of legitimacy of the Northern and Southern Courts
[Additional information] The Northern and Southern Courts were united in 1392 with the Northern Court taking the upper hand, and the Imperial Family thereafter was of the Northern Court lineage. Before World War II, the country recognized the legitimacy of the Southern Court, but this only stated that the Southern Court was the legitimate lineage for the approximately 60 years that the two Courts existed side by side, and did not deny the Imperial lineage of the Northern Court after the unification. In addition, the authenticity of the lineage that is said to link Emperor Gokameyama and Kumazawa is generally doubted.

[補説]南北両朝は1392年に北朝の優位で合一し、以降の天皇家は北朝の系統。第二次大戦前には南朝正統論が国によって認められたが、これは両朝並立の約60年間の正統が南朝だったとするもので、合一後の北朝系の皇統を否定していない。また、後亀山天皇と熊沢を結ぶとされる系統は、一般には信憑性が疑われている。
