Pavo (the Peacock)

Japanese: くじゃく座(孔雀座) - くじゃくざ（英語表記）Pavo

Its abbreviation is Pav. It is a small southern constellation. It was founded in 1603 by J. Bayer. It is not visible from Japan. Alpha is a spectroscopic binary star with a magnitude of 2.1 and a spectral type of B3, 230 light years away. Beta is a magnitude of 3.6 and a spectral type of A5, 110 light years away. There is also the globular cluster NGC6752. Its approximate position is right ascension 19h10m, declination -65°. It reaches its culmination at 8pm in early September. [Ishida Goro]
