Chronicles of the mythical history - The mythical history
Yellow cover. 3 volumes. Illustrations by Shikitei Sanba. Published in 1802 (Kyowa 2). As the inscription on the title, "Matayaki Naosu Hachikatsugihime," indicates, the story is based on the love story of Komachi Shosho from Kishida Toho's Kusazoushi Nenki (1783) and turns it into the story of Hachikazukihime. Following the example of the book, the book shows the transition of kusazoshi from red to black to blue to the modern yellow cover style, with illustrations that resemble the styles and artists of each artist. At the beginning of the book there is a "Marketing for Jihon Wholesalers" and a "List of Comic Authors," and at the end there is a "Complete List of Artists," a "Selection of Six Masterpiece Comic Authors," and an "A Brief List of Famous Blue Book Masterpieces." These provide an evaluation of the authors, artists, and works of the yellow-covered books of the time, and are of great use to future generations.
